My husband, who's a professional photographer, uses DVD's and external harddrives to back up his work. How much file space your images will take up dictates the storage you need. CD's might be sufficient, but if you have a lot, I would recommend DVD's and/or external hard drives. Regardless of your choice, make sure you back up the back ups! Have at least two copies of everything in separate locations. The same goes for back ups of ALL your computer files. Anything from a computer virus to a national disaster can cause much harm.
