We try to offer staff-level experience by including the intern in weekly
staff meetings and appropriate team meetings; by giving the intern a
discrete project to start, work on, and complete during his/her term, and by
giving them sufficient authority (a long-distance code, the ability to send
letters over their own signature, professional backup, etc.) to complete the
project successfully. There is of course a great deal of "dirty work", but
we all do it too. I try never to give an intern a project or assignment
that I wouldn't do myself had I the time.

By the way, we are looking for interns for the fall and spring semesters
here at the Art Center! Interested persons may email me privately for
additional information.
