We are in the process of incorporating children's books into the galleries on topics relating to artwork in our museum. We do not have space for a shelf or bookcase, and plan on leaving them on benches where possible with signage explaining that the books are for children and their families to use within the galleries. I would like to hear from other museums who do this and learn what their experiences have been as far as space issues/theft/usage and how the curators feel about this addition to their gallery space.
