Hello all,

This week we had someone donated four teacups that
belonged to First Lady Ida McKinley. The donor's
grandfather and Mrs. McKinley were first cousins. We
were thrilled, because the McKinleys had no heirs, so
their belongings were scattered throughout the
extended family, and not all of it has found its way
back to Canton.

Two of the teacups are intact. One has a broken
handle, which was also donated. The fourth has been
broken into many pieces. I'm not sure if all of the
pieces are there.

My question is, do I accession the broken cup? Since
it is part of the presidential collection, it is
rather important. I have no way of knowing if all the
pieces are there until a conservator reassembles them
all. And we aren't in a financial position to have
that work done any time soon.

Thanks!
Kim
