Interesting exhibit at Exit Art/The First World in New York:

"Counterculture: Alternative Information from the Underground Press to
the Internet." February 24 -- April 20, 1996.

They have a web site for the exhibit that is, unfortunately, very
confusing and lacking in substance but worth a look:
