I personnally own a painting that I would like to donate to a museum. It is a
portrait of Andrew Foster, Esq. painted in 1848 when he was 76 years of age
by the New York Studio of Waldo & Jewett, (documented on the back of the
canvas.) Foster was a prominent New York businessman who presumably worked at
18 Wall Street (also written on the back of the canvas.)

A curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art commented to me in a letter, "the
work of this portraitist team is well represented by eight protraits in the
musuem's collection, in addition to five works executed by Waldo before he
began his partnership with Jewett. [The] portrait appears distinguished and
it is important that the canvas bears identifying information."

If you are interested or know of an institution that might be, please contact
me at 800-232-0270, extension 41 or through this e-mail address,
