Skateboarding is not a crime; BUT knocking an elderly lady down and breaking her hip because you insist on grinding on the railings to the handicapped ramp when the Museum is open and patrons are on the ramp, and you have been asked three times to come back later when the Museum is closed but you have refused IS a crime. It is called assault. The police agreed with us. The young man in question got a free ride downtown. The old lady spent 6 months in rehab. She did not sue us, but she could have.

Not all skateboarders are bad; many are thoughtless. But those who insist on breaking rules should and will be punished, especially those who persist when all logical explanations, reasonable requests, and local ordinances have been communicated.
