In a related thread, Alison Ostgarden asked:

>"what good fundraising ideas have worked well for your museums"

I'd like to expand this topic a bit, to specifically address an
online fundraising strategy known as "click to donate".

In essence, a web visitor is provided with a "click here to donate"
hyperlink, which, when clicked, delivers them to a page with a
sponsor message (typically a few small sponsor banners) .. For each
"donation click", the sponsors pledge a donation (generally a few
cents) to a charitable cause.

Arguably, the best known in this category is
http://www.thehungersite.com .. or, for another example of how a
search page could incorporate this idea, you might check out one of
my own experiments .. http://www.karmaclicks.org

My BIG QUESTION .. Is this an appropriate online fundraising
technique for museums? Any immediate questions or concerns that come
to mind?
