Research Centre Reopens

The Australian War Memorial is very pleased to announce the reopening
of the Research Centre.

Opening hours
Online information gallery
10am - 5pm each day except Christmas Day, 9am - 5pm during school
holidays
Reading Room
10am - 5pm Monday - Friday, 1pm - 5pm Saturday.
Stack retrieval ceases at 4.15pm

Location
The Research Centre is located off the Central Stairs Area on the lower
ground floor. All visitors enter through the main Memorial entrance.

New services/improvements
- better physical facilities, more space
- easier access, centrally located
- a new online information gallery with up to 20 terminals
- more user friendly online systems
- a well designed Reading Room with functions grouped together to
  better serve visitor needs eg quiet spaces
- more information available online including the Roll of Honour
- an attractive exhibition area displaying rarely seen items from
  Research Centre collections
- self help photocopying for published material
- lockers
- areas well sign posted
- reader registration form to enable staff to better meet visitor
  information needs and more easily identify retrievals
- clearer system of information sheets
