Director of Development and Marketing Advertisement

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is scheduled to open in the late
fall of 2002 in Amherst, Massachusetts. It is committed to exhibiting
picture book art by nationally and internationally renowned artists. This
emerging institution seeks a dynamic, experienced professional to manage to
a successful conclusion a national and regional three-year $5 million
campaign to provide supplementary funds for the construction and initial
operation of the Museum.
As part of the senior management team, the Director of Development and
Marketing will work with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees to
achieve annual and long-term financial goals for the Museum. Collateral
responsibilities will include direction of the Museum’s public relations and
communications activities.
The optimal candidate will have significant fund raising experience, strong
administrative skills-with attentiveness to detail, excellent communications
proficiency, and demonstrated ability of working with and through staff and
volunteers to accomplish complex tasks. Salary is commensurate with
experience and includes a competitive benefits package.
