sasha - don't know where you're located but see if there is a
plastics/plexiglas dealer in your area...without seeing the plastic, it
would pay to have someone look at it and recommend the solvent.  (what
you're referring to is actually a solvent because it does attack the plastic
and softens the surface to make the bond).  it is usually based on methelyne
diethelene chloride - its a rather nasty chemical.) It comes in different
viscosities and gluing joints that are going to be visible is a wee bit
touchy.

if there's no plexiglas dealer, try a frame shop or a sign shop.

Thanks for your responses to my "sticky question." I'm on my way to having a
balanced proposal.

Another question--we have a bunch of plexi-glass frames. Some are custom
made, very high quality. But a lot of them are falling apart. I was told
there's some sort of glue(?) or something that actually melts and bonds the
plastic back together. What is that substance called and where can I get it?
