In repsonse to questions about photographic collections on the web and
about lists of other discussion groups:

1. The Library of Congress web site has a collection of photographs and
lots of teaching resources: www.loc.gov/

2. The University of Rochester's History Dept. has extensive resources on
various web pages, many are entire publications. I think the main site is:

                     http://www.history.rochester.edu/
Lists of student projects are at:
                http://www.history.rochester.edu/history/links.htm
Other sites have specific topics such as one listing sites for Erie Canal
studies:
        http://www.history.rochester.edu/canal/

3. "Mailing Lists and Discussion Groups" relating to history,
architecture, archaeology, etc. is at:
                                  http://www.cr.nps.gov/ncptt/irg/
and is a part of the Internet Resources for Heritage Conservation, Historic
Preservation and Archeology web site :

http://www.cr.nps.gov/ncptt/irg/irg-listservs.html

Continue through the mailing lists site by going to "next" pages for other
types of lists of web resources.

Happy surfing....
