If you don't want to search the Internet, the Library of Congress' homepage
is at: http://lcweb.loc.gov/

From there you can get to their library catalog LOCIS. (I would strongly
recommend reading the Locis search instructions _before_ attempting to
search the system.) Or you can go to other research libraries through the
Z39.50 gateway. Of course, you can only search one library at a time, but
the interface is much friendlier.

Another site that collects links to universities all over the world (and
thus connections to their libraries) is called GUWeb. It is arranged by
continent first. It's at: http://www.artsci.wustl.edu/~jrdorkin/GUWeb.html

Happy hunting,
