Wagon, Peddler’s:  Kingery Popcorn/ Peanut Wagon



Rectangular sheet metal body, gold painted above and red below, with a

ventilated peaked silver roof.  Mounted on a green-painted undercarriage

with four rod-spoked steel-rim wheels, leaf springs, and a towing handle on

its swiveled front axle.  The body's upper section has double glass doors,

and windows all around, and contains a kerosene burner supporting a corn

popper pan with detachable cover and mechanical stirring rod.  Lower

section has two drawers, and two chambers with burners, of which one,

probably a peanut roaster, has a rotating drum and pour spout.  The

mechanical drive trains to the drum and popcorn stirrer are missing.  Flow

to the various burners is controlled by valves on a distribution manifold

below the body, and is supplied from a roof-mounted cylindrical kerosene

tank.  "Kingery" and "HOT PEANUTS" "BUTTERED POPCORN" is on kerosene tank.

Condition:  Fair to good.  Minor mechanical parts missing, valves frozen.

Slight rust.
