Is this internship open to undergrads? If so, you might consider advertising at 
colleges/universities with programs in professional writing, or looking for students with 
business backgrounds. In the application/interview process you may find somebody, like we did, who specifically wants the opportunity to work with a non-profit.

In line with this I'd like to bring up the question of how to best 
recruit interns. We have posted on our website and on selected schools. 
We usually have a pretty good response for 4 of our 5 positions 
(curatorial, library, education, oral history) but not so much for the 
development/ administrative internship. Any suggestions on how to 
recruit? The position pays $9 per hour for a 35-hour week, we help set 
up housing but do not pay for housing, and we are on the island of 
Martha's Vineyard. I think it's a pretty good deal.
