Just a thought: How about collaborating with one of
the local colleges and/or high school music programs
and see if they might be willing to perform the pieces
(in period costumes) as a volunteer service on
weekends? Music students might like such an
opportunity/exposure, and perhaps they have a theatre
department that could loan costumes.

In that way, the music could be enjoyed and
appreciated, the students could learn about the period
pieces and get exposure to those who might be willing
to hire them for other performances, and the museum
could provide value-added visits. You might have to
provide copies of the music as opposed to the real
McCoys, but it might be a nice addition.
