Our site includes both the museum housed in a historic building and a 1.5
mile nature/historical trail. The geo-cachers are wonderful. They help keep
the trail policed and also provide enough traffic to discourage unsavory
activities there. I am actually doing some children's activities this summer
using GPS technology and these folks are eager to help out. We've had
nothing but good experiences with geo-cachers.

One funny - I had to put a little article about geo-caching in our museum
newsletters to educate our older trail walkers. They were convinced that
geo-cachers were "up to no good." We even had one old fellow spy on some
geo-cachers and then bring me the cache. He was sure the box was somehow
being used for drug trafficking. I don't think he believes me still.

Hello to all:

Have any of you heard of or been involved with "geocaching?" If not, it
is kind of like a glorified treasure hunt using a GPS device to find
"buried treasure." To learn more, you can access: www.geocaching.com.

What I am wondering is if any of you have had any experience with these
people digging for treasure on your site. We have had a request for
someone to bury treasure on our site, but are wondering if it is a
nuisance or no trouble at all. These people are supposed to ask before
they bury on your site, but a site that we are associated with has
recently found out that someone has buried treasure on there without
asking.

Any thoughts?
