We raffled off a donated motorcycle once. Check your state laws regarding
raffles and be sure to follow them PRECISELY. It was successful enough, but
didn't meet our optimistic goals. The person who got the motorcycle was
happy, though. Our raffle was run by one person in the development
department, and aside from involving Marketing in creating printed materials
and promoting the event, didn't really affect any other department. Oh,
yeah: we had to display the 'cycle in the lobby and that was a little bit
of a logistical difficulty. If displaying the car is essential to selling
raffle tickets, then this is something you should consider up front.

Hi Jessica,

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum has done this in the past. I don't have
any contact info with me, but their web site (www.cbmm.org) has their main
phone number. Try asking for John Miller (director of development).

Hope this helps.
