Look folks. We discuss over the net ways to make our museums more
approachable to the general public. The fact is that a lot of the people
think of museums as stuffy places and not a place to have fun. Right? So
the solution, then would be to somehow let people know that eventhough a
museum is a learning experience, they can be fun as well.

The way I see it, we, ourselves, have to learn that as well. NOT
EVERYTHING IS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. Granted "crowing" about one's
home town athletic team may not be of interest to the majority of the
group, but LIGHTEN UP. Really. I've always considered this group to be
not only a group of info exchange, but also of support, developing
contacts, letting people know what's going on in their museum/campus/life.
I'd much rather see something lighthearted on this groups than the infernal
"unsubscrib me from this list" messages.

Please people. I've never thought of this list as a flame war list.
Putting down people because they are so excited about something that they
want to share with the people they thought were their friends is petty and
childish.

No wonder visitors feel museums are off limits to the masses.
