Good Afternoon "erinbale22"
Well it all depends on several variables.....here are just a few:
1.) Span of control (number of staff directly supervised and in-turn, the number of staff those people supervise, and the corresponding dollar amount of that annual payroll)
2.) Revenue generation responsibility in annual dollars
3.) Expenditure control responsibility in annual dollars
4.) If this position has a success, what does that mean in attendance, revenue, and customer satisfaction scores.
5.) If this position has a failure, what does that mean (with regards to #4)
There are other variables of course.....but you can see where I am heading with this. After you have these and other questions answered (or guessed at).....then you should look at comparable organizations with the same types of attributes and then finding out what a comparable position in such a comparable organization would have as its salary range for that position. Its the old adage of comparing apples with apples.
Best Wishes,
Wesley

Hello all.
I need you opinions.

What would you say is a fair salary request for a for profit arts institution job that is in NYC, for a candidate who has a Masters Degree and 3-5 years relevant experience in the field?

I have an interview soon and don't want to under or over bid myself upon the "salary request" question.

Thanks for any advice!
