Join us at the INTERCOM 2006 Annual Meeting and Conference

BOOK NOW, simply go to http://intercom.museum

Our theme this year is "New Roles and Missions of Museums" exploring a
series of related topics:

*	A new social relevance - human versus economic values
*	Local, regional, and national identity
*	Different types of roles for museums
*	International Activity
*	Addressing these new challenges: what is the role for
local/central government?

Additionally, the executive committee has arranged a series of exciting
cultural events to present participants with a fuller understanding of
Taiwan's diverse cultural heritage. You can also go on exciting
post-conference tours to discover some of Taiwan's natural and cultural
heritage.

Dr David Fleming, President of INTERCOM says:

"This is a key ICOM international committee which draws together
best museum management practice from all over the world at a time when
we are all subject to a host of pressures, many of which we have in
common. One of the ways we do this is to organise international
conferences in different countries at which we exchange ideas and
experiences, with speakers addressing themselves to themes identified as
especially important in the host country. This conference is a rare
opportunity to gather in the beautiful country of Taiwan, a country
notable for its cultural riches and marvellous museums. I hope to
welcome you in the city of Taipei!"

The conference is organised jointly with Taiwan Council for Cultural
Affairs and Chinese Association of Museums (Taiwan).
