Dear ICOM members,

EXARC is the ICOM Affiliated Organisation on Archaeological Open-Air Museums
and Experimental Archaeology. We run with 11 members a cooperation project
called OpenArch.
September 23 - 27 we are having a conference on "Museum interpretation and
public engagement: challenges and opportunities" in Sweden (fly to
Copenhagen, Denmark).

The linked themes across the two main days Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 will be:
1. “Management & communication strategies at open-air/archaeological
museums” and “Working with volunteers”.
2. How can performance of various kinds contribute to and extend the work of
such museums and sites? (This includes 1st and 3rd person interpretation,
theatre presentations & events and drama workshops).

Best regards,

Dr Roeland Paardekooper
