*How to write papers for International Journal of Intangible Heritage* **

*Scope *

Prospective authors may submit academic and research papers, columns, and
short articles of 2000 words or reviews of 1,000 words on intangible
heritage for publication in the journal.

*Format*

Manuscripts should adhere to the following criteria:

*(1) Format *

Whatever word processing system is used to produce the manuscript, the final
file should be saved and submitted in unjustified text alignment such as a
Rich Text Format(RTF) file, without other formatting such as MS word.

*(2) Length *

Articles should be between 4000 and 6000 words long, excluding notes,
bibliography and captions to illustrations. We aim for roughly 800 words for
the page.

* To publish a longer article having more words, please consult with the
Editorial Board by email to the Editor-in-Chief(*[log in to unmask]*).

*(3) Typing *

The preferred font is either 12-point Times New Roman or 11-point Arial.
Authors should not use different fonts and different sizes of type.

*(4) Margin *

Margins should be at least one inch wide on all sides. Please do not justify
the right margin. Left justification only.

*(5) Automatic utilities such as bullet points, endnotes, etc.*

Automatic utilities such as bullet points, endnotes, etc. may be lost when
the file is transferred to printer's typesetting. Please type these in by
hand or, in the case of endnotes, put them in a separate file.

*(6) Photographs and Images *

- Wherever possible photographs or other illustrations should be submitted
in digital form in either JPEG, EPS or TIFF formats. A satisfactory digital
photography is likely to be at least 1MB file.

- Scanned images must be prepared at a resolution of not less than 300 dpi.

- Photographs taken by digital cameras should preferably be taken at a 2048X
1536 pixels setting, using 'Fine' if possible.

- Each image should be saved and attached to the email message submitted
with the manuscript as a separate file. These should not be embedded.
Captions etc. (these should include any necessary acknowledgement of
copyright) should be sent as a separate file.

- It is the authors' responsibility to obtain necessary permission for use
of copyright materials. All such material should be acknowledged in
accordance with the terms of any copyright permission.

*(7) Title Page*

The title page should adhere to the following criteria:

- Full Title: this should be specific and concise indicating the subject and
scope of the paper submitted.

- Sub-title: the subtitles for page headers should contain no more than 50
characters (including spaces).

- The name of the author: this should appear with details of the author's
nationality and the name of the organisation to which they are affiliated.

-Abstract: authors are requested to submit an abstract of approximately 200
words outlining the content of their paper.

*(8) Citations*

Endnotes should be indicated in the text in normal type in the form of (1)
(2) (3). List each note at the end of the article followed by a
bibliography. Authors are requested not to use their word-processing
system's Endnote/Footnote system as these are generally not compatible with
printers' typesetting systems.

*(9) Bibliography and references*

In matters of style, IJIH generally follows the rules set out in the Chicago
Manual of Style ( Chicago: University of Chicago Press, the 15th Edition,
2003).

Electronic Sources ( Web, CD etc.): It is suggested that authors refer to
the pages or CD titles ( or the nearest equivalent) with the full web
