INTERCOM 2015: Leadership for a Sustainable Museum

We are pleased to announce the registration for the Annual Conference of ICOM International Committee on Management (INTERCOM) in 2015 is now open.

Three major conference themes: The Sustainable Leader, The Enduring Organization, and the Essential Museum.

INTERCOM, in partnership with the Museum Studies Program of the George Washington University and ICOM-US, will hold its annual conference October 28-31, 2015 in Washington DC. Join international museum leaders and those from museum-related organizations to examine together this critical topic. The program includes two and a half days of conference discussions, three evening events and Washington, DC museum tours. INTERCOM 2015 is the first time INTERCOM’s Annual Meeting has been held in the United States.
INTERCOM is the International Committee on Management of the multinational non-profit organization ICOM, the International Council of Museums. ICOM-US is ICOM’s national committee in the United States. Five national museums in downtown Washington, DC will serve as the host venues: The George Washington Museum and the Textile Museum, the National Building Museum, the National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Museum.

Call for Session Proposals<http://www.museumleadership.com/new-page-1/>- Deadline- May 15, 2015: INTERCOM 2015: Leadership for a Sustainable Museum is seeking proposals from professionals who work in museums and museum-related organizations. Proposal should address the three major themes of the conference: The Sustainable Leader; The Enduring Organization; The Essential Museum.<http://www.museumleadership.com/overview> Conference proposals may be submitted as an individual or as a panel for presentation at the conference. Proposals for papers, workshops, debates, or lightning talks may be submitted on any of the three themes. All proposals must be in English.
