On: Museum Documentation Centres & further contacts
From: Jeanne Hogenboom, CIDOC Chair

Dear mr. Damjanov and mr. Pearce and other collegues interested,

Yes, it might be a good idea to have closer contacts between museum
documentation centres. CIDOC has had a Working Group on Information Centres
for quite some time. This WG has occasionally organized very useful 1 day
meetings for eg.museum libraries, planned close to CIDOC's annual
conferences. At the moment the WG has rather a low profile. The CIDOC board
has to reconsider the goals (and existence) of such low profile WG's regularly.
I would be interested to hear opinions of the ICOM membership as to what
kind of contact the museum documentation centres or information centres (or
libraries) would like to establish. If CIDOC can be of help there, we could
see what the Information Centres WG could do.

With best regards,
Jeanne Hogenboom

CIDOC Chair
