Dear Colleague

The theme of "Marketing Museums beyond the Millennium" will be
foremost on the agenda at this year's ICOM-MPR annual meeting in
Paris, 25-28 September 1999. Focussing upon key museum
communications issues that encompass the domains of marketing,
commercial partnerships and public relations, delegates will hear
from a wide array of speakers presenting case studies, discussion
panels and workshops over the course of the conference. An
extensive program of museum visits, guided by marketing
communications staff at each site, will also accompany the
program; unveiling for participants unique, behind-the-scenes
insights into a selection of Paris' most spectacular and
controversial cultural venues.

Additionally, a selection of post-conference tour options will be
made available to those delegates wishing to extend their stay
beyond the core activities of ICOM-MPR 99. Details of these
options, along with the current draft program, MPR's statement of
purpose and a conference registration form, may be accessed via
the following website address:

ICOM-MPR '99 will offer professionals working in museums and
other cultural fields a wealth of learning opportunities,
instructing delegates on how they might better understand and
serve the audiences that patronise their institutions; on how
they can develop more meaningful relationships with external
funding bodies and the corporate sector; and on how they may
construct or improve a marketplace image that is unique,
sustainable and effective into the 21st century.

I hope that you will confirm your attendance to our annual event, and look
forward to welcoming you to ICOM-MPR '99.

Kindest Regards

Grahame Ryan
