Objet : Re: Changes in plans for the ICOM June meeting (On behalf of Regine Schulz)

Dear all,
The National, International and Standing Committees represent the main
body of our the organization. Regine and Eva point to the very important
forum function of the joint Paris meeting. This year that function will
be drastically reduced. The General Director has argued that the reason
for the changes is that too much time is spent on the June meetings. In
my opinion, that argument expresses a wrong prioritization. The members
of the executive council and the DG should spend more time with the
committee members and use this opportunity to discuss the problems,
challenges and plans with the representatives of the committees. As I
mentioned in my previous email, I cannot find the formal backing of the
decision to change the dates and the meetings of the standing committees.

Kind regards
Christian-Emil Ore
Chair CIDOC
