I am happy to see several ideas for the International Museums Day 2001 come
forth in advance of the meeting in Paris in a few days.

The following ideas have been launched on the ICOM-L:

Rekdal:

"Museums unlimited: International Museum Co-operation"

Bernier:

"Museums unlimited: Museum Co-operation"

Wadum:

"Understanding and Preserving the Past for the Future"

Wechsler:

"Museums: Building Community"

MacAvity suggests mid-June instead of May 18. I am sure mid-June in some
parts of the world is just as hopeless as May 18 in others.

Let us have a theme that lasts for a year!

Kind regards

Per B. Rekdl
ICME chairperson
