International Festival of Museums INTERMUSEUM is the essential event in the
calendar of the professional museum community in Russia and the CIS
countries, *organized by the* *Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation*.

INTERMUSEUM 2013 will be held in Moscow at the Central House of Artists *from
May 31 to June 4, 2013.

INTERMUSEUM is a unique platform for exchange of experience and ideas, a
showcase for the best practices and achievements in all areas of museum
activity, important for both professionals and general public.

Each year one of the hot issues of social and cultural life is highlighted
through a full range of Festival activities - professional and cultural
programmes and a competition.

The focus of the INTERMUSEUM 2013 is on museum as an educational resource
of society.

The aims and objectives of the Festival INTERMUSEUM 2013:

* To promote integration of cultural and educational activities of museums
into the formal and informal education areas;
* To encourage partnerships of museums and educational institutions at all
levels;
* To promote dialogue and discussion between the museums and the executive
and legislative authorities;
* To showcase the best Russian and international museum educational
practices;
* To promote international communication and cooperation of young museum
professionals;
* To encourage and support the inter-museum youth projects as well as youth
cultural and educational activities.

Who are invited:

Representatives of Russian and international professional museum community,

educationalists: teachers, academics, heads of educational institutions,

representatives of national and local authorities,

representatives of mass-media

Formats of participation:

* Presentation of the museum and its educational programmes at an
exhibition stand
* Participation in the competition
* Participation in the professional programme of the festival
INTERMUSEUM 2013 competition is open to museums, galleries and exhibition
organizations from  Russia and the CIS countries , as well as organizations
that provide scholarships and grant programmes to the museums. The projects
submitted for competition should meet the INTERMUSEUM 2013 theme - Museum
as an educational resource of society.

Participation in the competition is open only to the museums which are
registered as the participants of the Festival exhibition.
