The International Committee for Regional Museums (ICR) has established these two travels grant to encourage two younger colleagues to participate in ICR activities and to attend an ICOM Triennial Conference. The grant is meant to help in covering the Conference Registration Fee and costs of accommodation. Applications are welcome from all younger members of ICOM who wish to attend the ICOM 2016 Triennial in Milano 4-9 July 2016. Although preference will be given to applicants from category 2–4 countries, applicants from category 1 countries will also be considered if no acceptable applications are received from category 2–4 countries.

Applicants must be:
-Less than 40 years of age.
-An individual member of ICOM or work at an institution that is an ICOM member.
-Actively employed as a museum professional for a minimum of two years as of the application date.
 
The awardee is required to:
-Present a paper on this year’s ICR theme at an ICR Session in Milano. (For details, please see the Call for Papers posted on ICR’s website: http://network.icom.museum/icr/annual-conference/call-for-papers-2016/)
-Submit the paper in printed form for publication.
-Write a report about the Triennial Conference for publication on the ICR website.

Note that both paper and report must be written in English.


Preference will be given to applicants who are individual members of ICR and/or are employed by a regional museum.

To apply send your CV with a cover letter stating why you wish to attend the 2016 Triennial Conference in Milano, along with the title and a 350-word abstract of your proposed paper. Applications should be submitted to ICR Secretary Jean Aase at [log in to unmask] by 15 April 2016. The successful applicants will be informed by 30 April 2016 with the complete text of the paper due to the ICR Secretary by 15 June 2016. This information will also be posted on the ICR website. All applications will be acknowledged on being received by ICR.

Applications will be evaluated by a Selection Committee.

No moneys will be paid out. ICR will instead pay the grantee’s Registration Fee and accommodation costs up to a combined total of €1000.
