THEME FOR INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY 2002 and 2003

During their meetings in Barcelona (July 2001) , The Advisory
Committee members have chosen the following themes for International
Museum Day 2002 and 2003

For 2002 the official theme is : "Museums and Globalisation"

For 2003 the official theme is : "Museums and Friends"

International Museum Day was created in 1977 at ICOM's 12th General
Assembly.  It is celebrated each year on 18th May. This annual event
provides the opportunity to draw the public's attention to museum
programmes through activities taking place on and around 18th May.
