Gene, you may want to signify coral sand.  Quartz sand (freshwater beaches)
weighs more than ocean sand (calcium carbonate).  It also depends on how
fine the sand is.

Oolitic sand (formed by precipitation and very fine) weighs more than the
coarser sand found near mollusk beds and reef tracts.
The very fine sand produced by parrotfish would be closer to the oolitic.

This feels a little strange, doesn't it, working a few hundre yards apart
