CULTURALHERITAGEWATCH reports on 09-03-2000:

"Sotheby's: Inside Story" By Peter Watson Published In China In Chinese Language

This is the first time that so many people from the cultural property
authorities will be busy reading the same translated book. It is obvious that
some people in China are interested in the book and the author very much.
Needless to say, the book is helpful for the protection of cultural property in
China. Actually, there have been many experts from museum, archaeologist
institution and the government visiting the auction houses in China. And there
are also some directors of the heritage authorities and museums like to get the
job of auction house for their son, daughter or secretary. Needless to say, many
auction houses hope so. Of course, the auction houses, the sons and their
fathers do not like the book. CULTURALHERITAGEWATCH finds someone are reading
the book when they take part the commemorative meetings on the law of auction.
Up to now, many people have received the book as a gift from
CULTURALHERITAGEWATCH.

!!!!: If you think CULTURALHERITAGEWATCH is useful for the protection of
!!!!heritage and for you to get some information, please give us some help.
