Dear Museum-L,

I am preparing for the museum's annual "spring cleaning" during which
volunteers traditionally polish the furniture and the silver. Regarding the
furniture polishing, I wondered what the most current recommendations
might be...what to use and how often to polish. I am told the furniture in
the house has not been polished for two years, so there is great
concern and eagerness to see it attended to quickly. Any thoughts?
Also, I am dealing with the issue of what silver polish to use. I have
always used one purchased from an archival supply company. Any
other recommendations? Any references you can point me towards would be of great help with
these issues. The more documentation I can provide the volunteers with
the more receptive they will be to these "changes". Thank you.
