We suspect localized powder post beetle infestation in the white pine timbers of an 1868 grist mill and are looking for suggestions on dealing with the problem. Most commercially available pesticides seem to be a borate solution. Would it be more economically feasible to mix our own solution? If so, what formula and application would be recommended? Has diazinon ever been shown to be a useful pesticide in combating powder post beetle infestation? Any help will be appreciated.
