COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR.  The Des Plaines Historical Society seeks
an energetic, organized self starter  to:  work with newly developed
local history curriculum; revamp current scout and community programs;
act as liaison between the museum and community; and assist in the
development of programs for our new facility.  Additional duties  will
include working as part of exhibit team, participation in special events,
and volunteer recruitment and training.

Des Plaines, a community of 52,000, is located approximately 15 miles
north of Chicago, minutes from O'Hare airport, and is readily accessible
by expressway and train from surrounding communities.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Museum Studies or Historical
Administration preferred.  Previous experience in education field a plus.
 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, a must.  The
qualified applicant will be able to interact with volunteers and staff
and function as part of a team.

SALARY: $22,000.00 annually, benefits.
