I'm with Janna on this.  There's no need to anguish over such a title when
one is readily available and widely used.  "Docent" is the name I've
encountered in most museums.  It's short, sweet (pun intended), and
distinctive.  If you decided on "interpretive" guides, on the other hand, be
sure to spell it right.
