Can any of you linologists refer me to a Norse (?) legend about the
discovery
of the economic applications of flax? Something about a maiden or goddess
with blue eyes who metamorphosed or was otherwise associated with the blue
flowered plant? I read it embarassingly long ago and have been trying to
recall it for many  years.
