The California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco has a very thorough
exhibit (including film that depicts the destructive power, good audio
effects and, of course, a moving platform that simulates different intensity
quakes). The display involves both geological descriptions and depictions of
how houses/buildings/even animals, I think, are affected by earthquakes.
Best of luck in the exhibit! I look forward to coming down and seeing it.
