MANAGING EDITOR POSITION, PART-TIME. AltaMira Press, a small academic
humanities publisher with a strong museum studies list, seeks a part-time
managing editor for its journal, Curator: The Museum Journal, a leading
resource for museum professional development. The managing editor will work
closely with the journal editor, Dr. Samuel Taylor of the California Academy
of Sciences, and the publisher. Responsibilities include soliciting
manuscripts, coordinating peer reviews, manuscript development, editing,
preparing manuscripts for production and other editorial and administrative
duties as needed. Potential candidate must have strong writing and editing
skills, the abilities to prioritize, juggle multiple responsibilities, and
work under tight deadlines and with a variety of people. Museum experience
preferable. This position is located in the SF Bay Area. Salary DOE.
