ANNOUNCEMENT

Job Title: Planning and Operations Manager
Department: International Projects
Reports to: Director fo International Planning and Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acts as primary liaison with international partners with respect to
operational and administrative issues, and staff coordination efforts.

        Facilitates the continued development of an efficient and cordial
working relationship among colleagues of the Guggenheim institutions and
its collaborative partners.

        Coordinates retreats and travel and meeting exchanges between
colleagues in corresponding departments and positions.

        Prepares and distributes the International Operations Executive
Calendar, informational brochures, and project fact sheets.

        Oversees scheduling and general communications among the project
staffs and exhibition teams.
        Develops and distributes the International Administrative Policies
and Procedures manual which outlines and describes working procedures at
each partner institution.

        Responds to all inquiries from Guggenheim partner colleagues for
information and assistance.

        Works in collaboration with the Director of International Planning
and Operations for the ongoing improvement of international communications
by addressing and trouble-shooting current and key issues; assists in the
development of strategies to improve operations and facilitate increased
communications.

        Supports the Director of International Planning and Operations to
ensure the successful completion of contractual obligations between the
Guggenheim and its international partners.

        Coordinates operational and administrative activities for
exhibition planning and implementation at international partner venues in
conjunction with the Exhibitions Program Manager.
        Supervises the Planning and Operations Coordinator.

        Under supervision of the Director of International Planning and
Operations, liaisons with the Budget and Planning and other departments in
the coordination of data and information and budget tracking for
international exhibitions and projects.

Liaisons with the Finance department in the coordination and distribution
of accounting and financial reporting on international projects.

        Coordinates contracts and exhibition expense requests between New
York, Bilbao, Berlin and other international project venues in conjunction
with legal and other museum departments.

        Assists the Director of International Planning and Operations in
the preparations of business plans and strategic planning models for other
potential international projects and programs.

When appropriate, researches and prepares documents for the Development
department designed to assist communications and parity between the
international Guggenheim sites and its partners.

        Assists in the coordination of preparing and disseminating
information regarding Guggenheim international venues and projects in
conjunction with the Visitor Services and Public Affairs departments when
necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Arts Administration or other Arts related field.

Previous experience working in the field of Arts Administration.  Prior
museum experience or internship highly desirable.  International
experience a plus.

Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent
proofreading skills.  Fluency in other languages (particularly
Spanish/German) a plus, but not necessary.

Strong computer skills required.

Superior organizational skills.  Ability to handle a variety of tasks
concurrently and meet frequent deadlines. Ability to initiate advance
planning and prioritize tasks.
