I'd like to point out that the IMLS General Operating Support program
awards two-year unrestricted, competitive grants to museums for ongoing
institutional activities, and this includes museums which are
non-collection holding.
I'm not particularly concerned about definitions and I'm not trying to
stir things up--but I think the nature of museums continues to evolving,
especially when we consider virtual museums on the web--no physical space
at all, let alone objects!
