I  heard from a friend back in Michigan that the Cornish Pump Museum in Iron
Mountain is in danger.  It seems the museum, which is located on an old
mining site, and houses a giant Cornish pump, is in danger of falling into
the mine.  The cap on the old shaft collapsed, and now a 1500 foot deep hole
threatens to spread.  Does anybody have more info on this, and does anyone
have any idea of emmergency funding the museum could pursue, for I
understand they do not have the money to cap the mine.  (Here's a new
