This query is perhaps a bit off the subject matter. We are conducting a
museum charette about historic house museums, their genesis, their fiscal
support, their prospects for community longevity. We have been interviewing
some directors of these museums in the St. Louis region, but would be
interested in hearing from the field as well. We have spoken with AASLH
already.

The Huguenot Historical Society of New Paltz, NY is currently working on
a souvenir booklet for the 100 year commemoration of one of our houses
as a public museum. It is basically a photographic history of the
house, focusing on architectural and social developments of the house.
All photographs are from our own archival collection -- are scanned and
reproduced in the booklet. Our curator has written captions for each
photograph, and has written an introduction discussing the history of
the house.
