There is still space and time to apply for the
Two-day Workshop on Integrated Pest Management at
Upper Midwest Conservation Association
Minneapolis Institute of Arts
Minneapolis, MN
May 20-21, 1999

Integrated pest management is a strategic approach to pest control in
collecting institutions such as museums, historical societies, libraries, and
archives. The approach relies primarily on non-chemical means to prevent and
manage pest infestation.
This advanced workshop will be conducted by two well-known IPM
specialists, Tom Strang of the Canadian Conservation Institute and Wendy
Jessup, IPM consultant and conservator. Abby Sue Fisher, of the National
Park Service, will discuss the hanta virus, and participants will have an
opportunity to view the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' anoxic chamber.
Participants will also have an opportunity to submit questions with their
registration to be answered by the workshop presenters.
Please contact Alisa Vignalo, Field Services Coordinator, at
612/870-3128 or email [log in to unmask] for a brochure. Visit our Workshop Page
on our Website at www.preserveart.org/html/news.html.
