The best temporary mounting material is 3M 375 tape.  It does not pull paint
off the wall even after a year.  I tear off a piece, make a roll with the
sticky side out, and its strong enough for almost anything.  I have used it
outside for direction arrows and it holds up.  However, you must pull the
tape loose in dry weather.  I have pulled the tape after a rain and it took
up the exterior paint.  I order it in bulk from ULINE, call 1800 295-5510.
I also order polyetheline bags for alot cheaper price than archival supply
houses.
