The Tech Museum of Innovation
Part-Time Openings
Receptionist

The Tech Museum of Innovation is an educational resource established to
engage people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and experiencing
technologies affecting their lives and to inspire the young to become
innovators in the technologies of the future.

The Tech is seeking two friendly and reliable professionals to serve as
Receptionists.  These part-time, regular, non-exempt positions will report to
the Accounting and Administrative Coordinator.

Responsibilities:
-Handle a large volume of telephone and in-person questions about The Tech,
its programs and exhibits. Route callers to appropriate departments.
-Greet and announce visitors courteously and professionally.
-Monitor incoming and out-coming shipments, i.e. fed ex, ups.
-Open and distribute incoming mail and faxes.  Monitor outgoing mail.
-Monitor general office supplies and postage.
-Be knowledgeable of The Tech's mission, programs, and exhibits. Stay
current with the functioning of the entire institution.
-Maintain high standards in general housekeeping of reception area and
office work area.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
-Punctual, reliable (excellent attendance record) and detail-oriented.
-Must be flexible to the museum's needs.
-Must have at least one year or related work experience.
-Good customer service skills.
-Good communication skills.
-PBX or call center experience desirable.
-Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
-Computer literate. Experience with Windows applications desirable.
-High school diploma required.

Salary: $10-12/hour

Hours: Shift #1: M-F 8:30am-1:30pm (25hrs/week)
        Shift #2: M-F 12:30am-5:30pm (25hrs/week)
