The instructors come from some of the city's major institutions, and
the university is wonderful.  You'll learn alot and will likewise meet some
interesting people.  You'll also have almost full library access (a big perk).
        On the other hand, networking might be minimized.  NYU offers the
same program spread over three semesters a year.  Although that takes longer,
you'd be better networked.  If you live in NYC, I'd do the longer program
option.  If you're coming from out of town, well, it's up to you.  You might
also be able to get the same type of training at a local university.  Arts
administration courses are blooming all over the place.
        While Assistant Director at The Skyscraper Museum, I took some
refresher courses there before going back into graduate school full-time.  I
found the education "locally" useful.  It might not all transfer to Peoria.
        I'm now in NYU's post graduate program in museum studies and The
Union Institute's doctoral program in public history (simultaneously).
