Position:

Textile Conservator
Department of Anthropology

Position Type:

Contract position (part-time)
3 month duration (May1-July 31, 1999)

Responsibilities:

. Written condition reports for approximately 250 textiles in the
Department of Anthropology Ethnographic Collection.
. Recommendations for treatment and identification of high risk items.
. Review of the condition report form and its usefulness for the collection.
. Assist in the renewal of storage materials and cleaning of cabinets.
. Work with and report to the Technologist, Department of Anthropology.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have completed a Msc in Clothing and Textiles, with an
emphasis in conservation or have equivalent practical experience.
