If you know someone with a digital camera, you
can get copies of the photographs that are as
good or better than the originals.  I've removed
spots, seamed photos back together, and improved
lighting and contrast. Another benefit is the photos
can be saved to disk for future use. Just be sure the
person using the camera has experience (ask to see
some of their work) and furnish those white gloves.
